  "Boy oh boy, these hats are everything people say they are! They have such a beautiful “crunch” to them when they are closed. The foot chick is dark and dry. While they are very low-pitched and thin cymbals, they surprisingly still provide a fair amount of volume. When played slightly open, they produce a crispy sizzle. Any Gadson type groove really excels through these hi hats. Their crunchy feel gives them so much personality to contribute to just about any musical context, but these hi hats really find themselves at home in genres like funk, jazz, worship, and soft rock." - Braden Cox

The dry and short sustain when playing closed is striking. If you prefer a controlled sound with stick definition and a good dose of vintage character, you will be happy here. The 16-inch version in particular is very reminiscent of Steve Jordan's powerful, wide yet defined hi-hat sound. Due to the fact that the bottom cymbal is hardly heavier than the top cymbal, the chick sound is not particularly powerful.
